“Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”

The official countdown clock has been set in motion on December 6 to mark 300 days until the grand opening of Dubai Expo 2020. Dubai is gearing up to welcome more than 25 million tourists and businesses to the mega event between 1 October 2021 – 31 March 2022. More than 190 are set to participate in this World Expo, the first to be held in the Middle East. All pavilions will be spread across three thematic districts: Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability.

Belgian Pavilion and Flemish Week

The Belgian pavilion, designed by the BEMOB-2020 consortium, will showcase pioneering smart technologies and highlight sustainable solutions in the field of mobility. In line with its strategy for internationalisation, Flanders will host the Flemish Week between 3-29 October, highlighting the region’s position as an innovative business hub.

UAE Jubillee Year

2021 also marks the 50th anniversary of the founding of the United Arab Emirates. Expect brand new museums, a burgeoning art scene and unique exhibits. Don’t miss out on the following landmarks in Dubai:

  • Etihad Museum: this architectural masterpiece celebrates the birth of the UAE in 1971 and the astonishing development of each of the seven emirates.
  • Museum of the Future: the latest futuristic addition to the Dubai skyline proudly combines state of the art developments in science, art and education.
  • Al Shindagha Museum: for a throw-back to old Dubai, explore this heritage district by the Dubai Creek, home to the former rulers and sheikhs of Dubai.
